My husband and I began attending CommUNITY Church in the summer of 2021. What I love most about our church is how genuine we are about imperfectly following a perfect God. Our church leadership’s dedication and boldness in preaching The Truth in Christ Jesus and pointing us back to His word as found in scripture, regardless of what the world says, is so encouraging and refreshing.
I am grateful to serve as our worship leader on Sunday mornings. My ministry focus is on guiding our worship service to honor and glorify Christ above all else and to make His name known. I am also dedicated to ministering to those who serve on the worship team and encouraging them in their walk with Christ.
I am always partial to singing and praying through the Psalms… BUT one of my favorite passages of scripture is Isaiah 43. This chapter so beautifully describes God’s perfect and relentless love, His mercy, protection, and deliverance. To know that God views each of His children as precious and honored and deeply loved amazes me. God’s desire for intimacy with us in our lives is so strong that He would - and did - pay whatever price necessary to redeem and deliver us from the pit. What an awesome and great Father we have in Heaven! There is none like him in all the earth.
“But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you. Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior. I declared and saved and proclaimed, when there was no strange god among you; and you are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and I am God. Also henceforth I am he; there is none who can deliver from my hand; I work, and who can turn it back?” “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:1-4, 11-13, 18-19 ESV
