How long have you been at CommUNITY and what do you love most about our church?

After over 20 years of living around the Indianapolis area, we felt God’s call to leave the hustle and bustle of city-life and move to a rural area. We moved in the fall of 2020 and soon after began looking for our new church home. It only took one Sunday at commUNITY to know we had found a church that was special. These people were welcoming, imperfect, real, and on fire for Jesus! We loved the unapologetic truth being preached and the Spirit-filled worship each Sunday morning. As we continued to attend it was obvious that this church and the Gaston community is why God called us to this place.

What is your role and ministry focus at CommUNITY Church?

As one of the Elders, my focus is on teaching and discipleship. I am heavily involved in organizing classes, our church app, website, and church management software. I am passionate about small group ministries and discipling men and married couples.   

What is your favorite verse or passage in scripture and why?

Matthew 28: 18-20 which is known as the Great Commission. It says:

¹⁸ And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. ¹⁹ Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

This scripture is a daily reminder and challenge for me. What am I doing to make and grow disciples for Jesus Christ today?
